NBA offers four types of memberships:
NBA membership is available in a variety of levels. Each membership includes a subscription to the Bulletin, offers a member discount on all other publications, and entitles the member to a vote.
Regular member residing within the U.S. - $40
Regular member residing outside the U.S. - $45
Sustaining - $60
Patron - $150
Life - $500 (can be purchased in installments)
Student membership includes the same benefits as regular membership. See application form for qualifications.
Student member residing within the U.S.- $20.00
Student member residing outside the U.S.- $25.00
Educational membership is an agreement between educational programs/facilities and National Braille Association to allow students participating in an educational program/facility to access NBA documents through the NBA website with the following conditions:
- Educational facility pays a fee to NBA of $300.00 for a 12-month access period.
- Each student in this program will need to have a current student membership in the NBA which is payable by the student directly to the NBA.
Eligibility for membership: Any program or facility that provides formal braille instruction leading to any certification is eligible for this group membership. Potential members could include (but are not limited to) teacher preparation programs, higher education programs that train braille transcribers, and prison braille programs that train transcribers.
Benefits of this membership: Members in this program will have access to a password-protected area of the website where articles from past Bulletins that support the curriculum of the educational facility will be available to read online, to download, or to print. Use of these copyrighted materials is limited to personal use to support the training program. Any other use or redistribution is expressly prohibited.
Length of membership: The student members of each group will have access from the start date and ending on the stop date selected by the educational program. Members will be assigned a login and password to access the protected area of the website.
NBA Bulletin Subscription (for organizations and agencies) Subscription memberships are not entitled to vote.
