Hello. I have the following situation many times throughout the Math book that I am brailling. I am not sure of the best, and more importantly, correct way to handle.

Example: So, keep the 3 and drop the digit to its right, 4. 1.34 --------> 1.3

Can I use a braille arrow for this, or do I need to spur the arrow.
    Thanks in advance,
    Patty

A braille arrow (mathematical symbol) is not appropriate here. To avoid having to spur many arrows, I suggest replacing the arrow with an embedded transcriber's note, using a word that describes what the arrow means. In this case, ..becomes.. will do the job. You will need to explain your treatment of the print arrow on the Transcriber's Notes page.

I was quite sure that the mathematical symbol for the arrow was not correct, but was dreading spurring so many arrows. Your suggestion sounds wonderful to me. Thanks so much for all your help.
