More confusion about when to continue the emphasis. We have footnotes with bold and italics. I have attached a sample. Both footnotes are italicized and the entry words are in bold.
UEB Rule
9.9.1 When transcribing a typeform passage which extends over more than one text element (e.g. a series of consecutive paragraphs), each text element is preceded by the typeform passage indicator and the typeform is terminated only at the point where the typeform changes.
Are two footnotes considered more than one text element? Should we open the bold and italics at the beginning of the first footnote, close the bold at the end of the first word; leave the italics open because it "extends over more than one text element"; place the opening bold and italics on the next entry word; close the bold after the 2nd entry word; then finally close the italics at the end of the second italicized text?
Or should each of these entry words be treated with complete separate emphasis?
