Throughout a literature textbook, there are six different colors of highlighting in multiple literary passages (blue, yellow, pink, purple, green, orange) which are used to point out different devices the authors use in their writing.  The colors themselves are not referred to in print.

I am using all five transcriber-defined typeforms plus the script typeform for these six highlighting colors (the script typeform is not needed in the transcription).

In the Glossary in the back of the book, and only in the Glossary, certain entries are shown in blue typeface, and the color is referred to in the explanation preceding the glossary.

Would it be acceptable to use the same transcriber-defined typeform for both blue typeface and blue highlighting since the former is only in the glossary?  I would write a Transcriber's Note that blue refers to both typeface and highlighting.

    Thank you for your help.

Sorry for the delay in answering this.

As there are not seven choices for typeform indicators, the committee agrees that the best option is to use the same transcriber-defined typeform indicator for the blue highlighting in the text and the blue typeface in the glossary.  As stated, include a transcriber's note to explain what was done. It's not an excellent option as re-purposing typeform indicators is not generally allowed, but it IS the best option given the circumstances.
