ellipses with emphasis

Hello,

In the following line of text, the italiced sentence ends with a period, followed by an ellipses and end quote.

"You're quite right, Rogers. Look for yourself. There are only
seven. . . ."

Question: How far do the italics extend? to the end of the ellipses? or just to the end of the first period?  In this example, There are only seven. would make sense in context with the surrounding text. But it may also be possible that the unsaid portion is a continuation of the missing italicized text.

Here is what I've done, see if you agree: I ended italics at the end of the 1st period, since it's text that is present we are considering. I've also spaced the ellipses away from the period (seven. ...").
