These webinars are entirely free to anyone and don’t require registration. As long as you have an internet connection, you can click the join link below each description a few minutes before start time, and you’re in! These are intended to run short, so the content portion is typically around 15 minutes long, and then there’s a few minutes for any questions. We want you to be able to learn some new tricks without having to take a lot of time out of your busy day!
We hope you’ll be able to join us live, but if you can’t, remember that we record all our webinars. Those recordings are housed in the archive, and are available to current NBA members. If you want to watch later, just sign in with your member account, navigate to the skills area you’re looking for, and hit play! Entering Diacritics in Your Source Documents

Description: Diacritics (sometimes called accent marks) are features of many non-English languages. Diacritics guide the reader to the pronunciation of letters affected by the diacritics. In this webinar we present several reliable ways of adding diacritics in your source documents for use in computer-aided braille transcription. These methods work on Windows and Macintosh computers and with all of the computer-aided translation and transcription tools available. At the end of this webinar you will be able to add diacritics to your source documents using the methods described. A job aid for guiding the process is provided for your use.

The macro was discussed at a workshop in Knoxville last fall; if you were not able to be there and you use Braille 2000 to transcribe Nemeth, this webinar is for you!
