    Dear Expert,

     

    Nemeth arrows (in this case, an arrow with a double arrow shaft is sometimes called a spear.), are used as a sign of comparison, modification, or other technical applications, not for pointing. I wanted to know if this is the case where the arrow maybe a sign of comparison and the text that is after the arrow is also in Nemeth. Below is how it was transcribed.

    We do not see this as a pointing arrow. It is also not part of the expression $5 off. It is a technical expression in its own right, suggested meaning "then".  Our consensus is that it has been transcribed correctly. (There is a  dot error in the comma following off).
