    Good Afternoon,

I am transcribing a book of Arias that are written in multiple languages. Since each aria is shown only in its original language, I am using the appropriate characters from that language for the accented letters. In one of the songs, Klänge der Heimat, the song appears to be in German but one word that appears twice within the lyrics, “Csárdás,” seems to be in Hungarian. What would be the appropriate way to indicate the acute accent over the Hungarian A’s in in the middle of the German lyrics? Would I use code switch indicators and use UEB accents for the Hungarian word?

    Hi Lucas,

I don't think code switch indicators are necessary. Just use the UEB acute accent with the affected words. It can't be mistaken for anything else in German, so there should be no confusion. Just remember to include it in your Special Symbols list!

    Kathleen
