After transcribing the lesson 19 for the Literary Braille class, I'm confused about the placement of a poem for my trial manuscript. In section 19.2h, it states that a poem found in the front matter of a book would be placed in the Preliminary pages of the manuscript "in the order which they occur in the book." But, when I received my graded lesson 19 back, the teacher had marked that the poetry should have been included with the text pages.

I'm not sure what I should do about a poem that is in the front matter of the book I'm working on for my trial manuscript. Should it be in the preliminary pages, or the text pages? In the book it comes before the Table of Contents and it is on an unnumbered page.

The poem that occurs in Lesson 19 of the Instruction Manual appears at the end of the Author's Note. The Author's Note is what began the text portion of the "trial" manuscript, and therefore should not have been included in the preliminary pages.
If your poem is on an unnumbered page and included in front matter, before the table of contents (and does not appear in the table of contents, then it would be preliminary pages.

    Does this clarify for you?
