Single Word Switch Clarification

Hello Lindy,

I'm attaching a page from a Grade K math book. We need your advice on the single word switch for the additions shown on the page. We are making tactile graphics so the student can count the items. My understanding from the rule is that the switch is allowed once. Please advise the correct way to braille _____ and _____ is _____.

Hi Beverly.

Actually, there is nothing on this page that requires Nemeth. Use the UEB low line (underscore) for the blanks, and contract the word "and".

In another setting, regarding the use of the single-word switch indicator in Nemeth context, although its use is limited to only one word at a time, it can be used more than once in a sentence as long as there is Nemeth between them.
