This seems to have been taken from a section of the textbook where "Map and Globe Skills" are being taught. The reader would not be able to answer the related questions. I would not say that all road maps must be done as a tactile―sometimes a combination of a transcriber's note explaining part of the map, and a simplified version would suffice. In this case, I would be inclined to reproduce the map, (or at least one of them, if a series of maps are used throughout this section of the textbook). This would involve an extensive key to list the names of streets and points of interest, and it may take several pages to show the map, but the reader is then able to fully participate with the rest of the classroom.
Chris ClemensKeymasterCould I see the next page where the questions about these screens must appear?
Chris ClemensKeymasterThere are standards for all of the things you mentioned in your question about graphs. The Tactile Graphics Guidelines have recently been adopted by BANA. I will ask our Graphics Committee chair to respond to your questions.
Chris ClemensKeymasterThe advice I received from the Computer Braille Committee is that Computer Braille Code should be used to transcribe what in effect is an electronic address. You would need the begin and end CBC indicators unless the item is displayed.
Chris ClemensKeymasterThanks so much for your help.

Chris ClemensKeymasterHi there,
Thank you for providing the attached page. In this case, I would follow print. Use a letter indicator in fron to f the A, P, and E and use the ellipsis in between spaced as a word (blank cell before and after the ellipsis). Where there is a dash, again follow print.

Chris ClemensKeymasterThanks for the info,
I reviewed Lesson 19.6 and 19.7 before I wrote for assistance. It really doesn't address this particular situation, where there are no chapter titles or headings, only asterisks.
I chose to begin the new volume using the "Part Number" centered, followed by the "Part Title" centered, followed by 3 asterisks (Cont.). I had used the 3 asterisks to identify new chapters throughout the book, so I figured this was the closest I could get to the information I found in the manuals.
Thank you again for your input.
Mary HubbardChris ClemensKeymasterThank you.
Chris ClemensKeymasterSee the BANA 2007 Update, page N5. 🙂
Chris ClemensKeymasterOkay, thank you. My book doesn't have the separation line in print so it made it confusing.
Chris ClemensKeymasterI hope you get this all right. I've never tried sending a scanned item before.
Chris ClemensKeymasterHi,
Please scan the page and attach it so I can look at it to fully understand what you are asking. 🙂
Thanks,
JanaChris ClemensKeymasterOf course you are right, Dorothy. It is not a hypercomplex fraction.
Chris ClemensKeymasterYes, use the dot 5 to indicate that it is not a plus/minus sign.
