Piggy-backing onto this, if the abbreviation is K.NBT or A-CED, would you still capitalize each letter individually?
dworthingParticipantI agree with you. There doesn't seem to be a specific rule, but the student will be typing the password in letter for letter
dworthingParticipantOoops! Don't save that one. I inadvertantly omitted a decimal point. Here is the corrected document.
dworthingParticipantThank you very much. I have saved your document and in the future will get it out whenever the topic comes up and say, "This is how to do it..... the Expert says so." Thanks again.
dworthingParticipantThese arrows will have to be drawn because it is about the shape, as shown in the second picture. There is no braille dot construction that can represent these arrows.
dworthingParticipantMaybe I'll have to re-think the way things are handled in that document. Basically, if there isn't a comment saying we don't follow it, Braille Formats guidelines rule, keeping in mind that Nemeth format takes precedence when it is specified in the Nemeth Code. I'm going to re-read the BANA document now myself and find out if I need to clarify things a little.
dworthingParticipantWell gee, I did look there first. I must have missed it. Or, is it because, since it's NOT mentioned we then defer to Braille Formats?
dworthingParticipantYes, we are to use bullets in Nemeth transcriptions. Check out BANA's website for a summary of the effect of Formats on Nemeth transcriptions.
dworthingParticipantThe rule about treating abbreviations as mathematical applies only to chemical abbreviations. So p. 175 would be treated as a literary abbreviation. DNA(Deoxyribonucleic acid--a molecule) would be capitalized and punctuated mathematically.
The BANA Ad Hoc Chemistry Committee is working on a clarification of this rule.
dworthingParticipantSorry, I answered a question that was not asked. If you are transcribing in literary code or Nemeth (not Chemistry Code), DNA would be double-capped and punctuated according to EBAE.
dworthingParticipantThe rule about treating abbreviations as mathematical applies only to chemical abbreviations. So p. 12 would be treated as a literary abbreviation. DNA(Deoxyribonucleic acid--a molecule) would be capitalized and punctuated mathematically.
The BANA Ad Hoc Chemistry Committee is working on a clarification of this rule.
dworthingParticipantIf there are any trancriber's preliminary pages involved in a lesson they would have to be numbered as Formats requires. A document discussing the application of Formats to Nemeth is posted on BANA's website.
dworthingParticipantYes, it does. However you must use Nemeth reference indicators rather than the ones provided in Formats
dworthingParticipantLet's try this.
dworthingParticipantThese arrows have to be drawn. I would follow print and make them curved. If you look in the web version of Tactile Graphics Guidelines, Calvin cycle example, you will see curved arrows drawn as shown in print.
