ParticipantOkay, but you split the t = 1 in the fourth line of the equation.

ParticipantThat makes perfect sense to me. Thank you all for the helpful advice you give.

ParticipantAfter further investigation, the best answer I can find is as follows...
At present there are no guidelines that address the use of the letter indicator in uncontracted braille.
This needs to be a transcriber's best discretion, so if there could be any doubt or potential confusion, inserting the letter sign would be acceptable.Lynnette
ParticipantYes, if the poem is continued on the next page the blank line is not used. The blank line would imply the end of the stanza or poem. One way to tell that this is not the end of the poem is the colon at the end of the last line.

Participant5.6.4 says that the indicators can be listed on either the SS page or at the point of use. If the termination/transcriber's note indicator were already on the SS page it would not have to be repeated here. Just the unique indicators, those not used elsewhere in the text, are shown at the point of use. Look at 3.3.1.

ParticipantExample 5-3 Braille pg 5-21 The Transcriber's note lists the symbols used but omits the termination indicator - is this correct? The previous example includes the termination indicator but is it absolutely required if previously listed on the Special Symbols page? Guideline 5.6.4 would make it seem necessary which would make the Braille example wrong.

ParticipantPerhaps the note should say guide dots should be used after the dash rather than saying dot 5s are not used.
Lynnette
ParticipantThe dot 5s are guide dots to the next column.

ParticipantI have a list of corrections to be made. It needs some fine tuning and it is up to the BANA Publications committee to decide when and if it will be published.

ParticipantThanks for the info. Is there a list of other errors in the book?
Lynnette
ParticipantThe caption should be first. This is another of the errors that many transcribers have found and which will be corrected before the print edition is published. The source citation should follow the caption and is part of the print text surrounding the image. The transcriber's descriptive note should follow the caption information.
