January 2019 Webinars

We’re excited to kick off our 2019 schedule of webinars! We’ve been planning more of the longer, in depth trainings, as well as partnering with some new presenters this year. As we begin to schedule content for the rest of the year, here’s the lineup of free webinars we’ll be offering this January.

Remember, you don’t need to be an NBA member to attend the webinars as they happen. There is no cost to attending these shorter length trainings, which typically run about 15 minutes each. The goal of these is to offer a quick learning experience without taking too much time from your day.

To join any of the following webinars, simply the click the included below.

Braille Bytes – Navigating the Production of Maps
Presenter: Betty Marshall
Thursday, January 31, at 3:00p EST

Description: Regardless of the production method used, the thought process required before producing a textbook map as a tactile graphic is the same. In this session we will work through a question and answer form to determine how to break down a complex graphic into manageable components that will simplify the print image while maintaining it’s original intent. Discussion will include the use of a transcriber’s note and key, as well as when to use simplification, elimination, consolidation, or separation techniques.
