The annual NBA Professional Development Conference is the highlight of our year. For three days transcribers and teachers of the visually impaired gather in workshops taught by leading experts from around North America. Last year, of course, we had to pivot last minute and present the experience online. This year, we’re simply enamored to be returning to our regular in-person routine!
Registration for the 2021 NBA Professional Development Conference in San Antonio is now live! Here’s all the details you’ll need to be sure you can join us this November.

The three-day conference will take place on November 3rd, 4th, and 5th, 2021.
Wednesday, Session 1: 9:00a to 11:30a
Wednesday, Session 2: 1:30p to 4:00p
Thursday, Session 3: 9:00a to 11:30a
Thursday, Session 4: 1:30p to 4:00p
Friday, Session 5: 9:00a to 11:30a
WHERE
Our host hotel this year is the Embassy Suites by Hilton San Antonio Riverwalk Downtown. The hotel is located perfectly on the Riverwalk, so you can walk right out the door and instantly be minutes from restaurants, shops, entertainment, or just a picturesque spot to get some fresh air.
The entire conference will take place at this hotel, and we’ve arranged for a special rate for overnight accommodations. If you’re planning to spend the night, you’ll need to book your accommodations directly with the hotel. Using this link to book will ensure that you are included in the NBA room block.
HOW TO REGISTER
You’ll need to register in advance to secure your seat in the workshops of your choice. We strongly advise registering as soon as possible to ensure the workshops you want to attend don’t fill up. We cannot accept on-site registration this year.
Like we have done in the past, we’ve created four different options to register. The main differences between the four tiers are whether or not you’ll want to join us for the meals, and whether or not you want to just receive materials for the workshops you’re attending, or for the whole conference. Those options are outlined in the beginning of the registration process.
There are five sessions, and each session has four different workshops. You’ll select one workshop to attend from each session. If you’d like to view the list of workshops before getting into the registration process, click here for a PDF of the descriptions.
